Job Title: Case Manager RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Case Management Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent relevant experience License: RN-Registered Nurse of California Certifications: Required certifications as applicable Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Bachelor's in Nursing preferred - Broad knowledge of health care delivery and case management within a managed care environment - Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status - Awareness of healthcare reimbursement systems including HMO, PPO, PPS, CMS, and alternative payment systems - Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and professional standards affecting case management practice - Ability to communicate effectively and promote collaboration with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other partners - Strong verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills - Excellent time management skills in a high-volume environment with changing priorities - Intermediate computer and technology skills - Ability to function effectively in teams Description: The Case Manager RN will utilize a broad knowledge base of health care delivery and case management within a managed care environment. The RN will perform Utilization Review and assess levels of care and observation status. An understanding of healthcare reimbursement systems is essential for this role. The RN should have a working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards. Knowledge of post-acute levels of care and regulatory compliance requirements is preferred. The RN will effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members. Demonstrating a commitment to service excellence in all interactions is crucial for this position. The RN will promote quality patient care and assure a positive patient experience. Strong communication, negotiation, and time management skills are necessary for success in this role. Intermediate computer skills and the ability to work independently are important. Candidates must be capable of fostering teamwork and collaboration to enhance the patient experience.
